I’m not holding my breath, but if it’s still there in a month I’ll be roadtripping it back to Seattle (pending a look over by a local shop/bike friend ).

T here’s another 5th Gen near me, with ohlins and various comfort upgrades, but... Not yellow. I like the white, don’t get me wrong! Just.... Not yellow that’s a big strike against it.

6th gens seem a bit more common. Probably a better value too.

$3500 for an 06

$4500 for an 07 with matching hardcases that looks quite clean.

That yellow one won’t be listed long at that price if the condition really is as cl ean as it looks, and the white ‘01 isn’t the factory color, so it may have been repainted or painted on aftermarket bodywork. Just something to consider there.

Of the 6th gens, both look clean, but that ‘07 with the hardbags would be the one I’d consider first, unless the colors are a high priority.

Regardless of all that, happy hunting! It's almost as exciting trying to find the right one as it is the day you buy the right one!

The hunt is very exciting.

Thanks for the info on the repaint, I had no idea! I'm just going to hope that Salem isn't a hotbed of moto buying right now...

Get the yellow! Color is always the most important criterion.

The 6th gen VFR’s are cheaper because some folks claim that they are not as desirable as the 5th gen. The 5th gen marked the last g eneration of VFR with Gear Driven Cams. The 6th gen introduced chain driven cams and VTEC (yo!), but some will argue that VTEC on the VFR wasn’t really necessary and not worth the trouble. Others argue the styling on the 6 th gen is not as timeless as previous generations.

Nonetheless, I hope you find a VFR that is mint that you can afford... They are out there, but I’ll warn you that the majority of minty- VFR owners keep them that wa y for a reason and would only part with them for higher than market price or not sell at all.

Happy searching !
